FCPX And UNIX Links - The Geeked Out Version

There are plenty of simplified explanations about FCPX and links, symlinks, hard links, etc. But thins video, 13 minutes long, explains more in-depth, how those "links" work in the UNIX filesystem. Very geeky, not for everyone.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for this excellent video with great sound and attractive graphics. It offers a clear explanation about the workings of soft- and hard links. I think it's a must-see for anyone who deals with media management in FCP X, even for non-geeks. That's why I have taken the liberty of posting a link to this post in the general FCP X section of the forum.

Thanks Ronny, I really appreciate the kind words and re-post. My new site will have a lot more coming, too. Slowly since I'm a one-man-band again, but lots to come. Hoping now to get it out on time without the corporate overhead and headaches.

I've done this so many times in classes, I figured I'd just template it. Now when someone in my classes asks, "What do you mean soft and hard links?", I just launch the video and go grab coffee. HA!

Looking forward to seeing more of these. I have posted links on the Cow and on the major FCP X Facebook groups.
