Final Cut Pro X is ready to edit 4K video, but how do you find additional content that is also 4K ready? Watch
this video
to see how you can easily filter to see which content is ready for 4K projects in Final Cut Pro X.

This doesn't seem to be useful as it hopefully will be at some time.
Motion doesn't recognise resolutions, as such, when publishing templates to FCPX. It recognises Screen Aspect Ratios. So if you publish a Motion Template with a 16:9 Aspect Ratio then it is automatically SD, HD, 2k, 4k, 5k etc. ready, but only for the 16:9 flavour of each.
The biggest problem is obviously if there are bitmap graphics files used in the template. They will be scaled up to fit larger resolution projects than they were created in, and that will probably mean going higher than 100% and losing image quality.
I think it looks like Apple have flagged all the templates included with FCPX that wouldn't scale well for 4k resolutions in some way. But it doesn't look like they gave us the ability to do it in Motion when publishing templates.
I've been waiting for Apple to Add 4k Aspect Ratio snapshots to Motion, so when I just seen your thread I instantly taken a look to see if I had missed them being added, they haven't been. You still need to do the maths yourself to calculate the sizes.
I also opened a few FCPX supplied templates in Motion to take a look at. Templates that can be accessed with the "4K-ready content" checkbox selected.
They only have 16:9 and 4:3 snapshots. So they are only really any use for Ultra HD and 4:3 4K, which I think Youtube accepts.

I never thought to do this earlier, if you want to create snapshots that fit all the available presets in FCPX add the 4 that already exist and create another 4 custom snapshots to the dimensions of the following list in addition to them.
2560 x 1080
2160 x 1080
2048 x 1080
1442 x 1080
That then covers everything available in FCPX other than custom project sizes.
