Connect edit: music to clip was created by MacBookFan
Hi people,
I'm studying FCP X level 1 (Diana Weynands book). I'm doing this exercise: "connecting clips to the primary storyline". I had to connect an audio clip to a a video clip. If I do so (by keyboard shortcut "Q") I can see the vertical green line between the audio clip and the start of the videoclip (where the playhead was located).
But however: if I move the videoclip to another place on the timeline, the audio clip doesn't follow. For some reason it is not connected. What's going wrong?
I hope for some help. Thanks a lot!
EJ

Does the cover of your book say "Second Edition" or not?

Hi BenB,
It is indeed the second edition (as you recommended before).
But in the meantime the problem has been solved: I moved the audio clip and then moved it back to it's original connected video clip and after this move they were really connected.
I'm going to try again later today to find out what happened.
Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Eric

Are you using the media off the DVD? I've heard from other trainers that many of those DVDs are bad. If you have any other issues, let me know. I'll give you the URL to download updated (fixed) copies form Peachpit online.
I'd also zoom in a LOT and be sure there wasn't an accidental Gap Clip of one frame or something sitting there.

Thank you Ben. No I copied the lesson files to the hard drive. And they are from the site from Peachpit.
They indeed sent me a link for downloading the lesson files.
Thank you!
