How Do I Change The Transfom X/Y Position Automation Behavior From Sinusoidal To Linear? was created by cmpfireman
I'm using FCPX 10.0.5. I've been automating footage with the Transform x/y positioning and key frames. However the behavior of the movement is sinusoidal. I believe that's the right term - slow at the beginning and end of the movement. I want to change this to a linear or constant speed. I've looked and looked but can't find an adjustment. I'm sure it's right under my nose. Can anyone help?
Thanks

The animation term for the speed changes you describe is 'eased' - i.e the clips are 'eased in' and 'eased out'.
Sadly there is no simple preference in Final Cut to select this behaviour.
Workarounds include using my Smooth Move effect , which defaults to easing in and out, but can also do linear transformations.
An alternative is to use my free 'Curve' effects . They scale, rotate, crop and move clips within their original boundaries using whichever curve you like.
