Send to compressor is one way. Don't know if it can be done directly in motion.

Open the clip in QT Player version 7, bottom of View menu is a Set Poster Frame option. QT Player version X doesn't have it any more.

In QT7 pro - if set the poster frame at 10 sec, when I open the mov it begins playing from the poster frame at 10 sec?
Is this normal?

When in QT Player, set the Poster frame, move the playhead to the start of the video, Save. When you Save, QT remembers where the playhead is. It is not dependent on the poster frame at all.
