Motion 5 - Text Tracking Question (how to scale) was created by desilva_oz
Hi guys,
I am new to Mac, so previously I was on after effects, now I have FCPX I want to get to know motion 5.
I have been successfully been motion tracking custom titles with motion using analyze motion & match move.
My question is, I can motion track basic horizontal slides, or flat up/down camera movement. But I have a crane shot that is a simple vertical pan, but obviously camera gets "closer" to the subject and throws off my scaling of the tracked text.
Any suggestions? (this feels like my early days of FCPX, I thinking its really obvious)

You need to add another tracker and that will control the scale

I'm not sure I'm seeing "scale" problems. I'm not sure I see a problem by your screen shots. If you do need to track scale, like Peter says, make sure the correct axis is selected in the tracker, as you can turn on/off scale, rotation, position. The different trackers have very different quirks.
I see one tracking point at the very edge of the frame, if your tracker looses it's reference, you'll need to use the Offset function.

Adding the other tracker solved it! And activated scale, Too simple! Thanks :woohoo:
