Motion 5.0.2 & OSX 10.7.3 was created by NocoDave
This is just an observation that may prove useful to someone. I've not been using macs long enough to know why but when I upgraded to Motion 5.0.2 I found navigating the interface a bit slow to update/clunky etc, particular with the keyframe editor.
I've also been aware that my iMac is really pushing the lower limits of Motion 5 and started to worry that the new updates may have been issue here. But now that I updated to OSX 10.7.3 Motion is running as smooth as ice, perhaps even more so than before.

Thanks for the tip! Here's another one: Always download the OS X Combo update from the Apple Support website. It's just a best practice. Combo updates include everything thats changed from the initial 10.7 release, so if something in the updates screwed up the combo update may fix or even eliminate some issues.
Motion 5.0.1 on OS X 10.7.2 was buggy as hell for me on a Quad-Core i7 8GB 1GB VRAM Macbook Pro. The 5.0.2 update fixed a lot of issues and I'm finding produced a few more. Motion 5.0.2 hanged on export, but still worked and it always refused to Quit properly. RAM Preview didn't work either. I deleted Motion 5.0.2 and installed it from the App Store and all of the problems were solved. I'm hoping the OS X 10.7.3 combo update will make Motion smooth as buttah.
It seems to me another best practice is to delete FCPX and Motion from your system and install the updated version fresh from the App Store. This has solved a lot of problems for me so far working with these apps.

Wow, just like I was saying! Apparently the OS X 10.7.3 update is wreaking havoc on some people's Macs but downloading and installing the Combo Update both prevents and resolves the issue.
