Anyone know how to unlock a motion template. I recently bought some templates and would like to add to the template but it’s locked.

There are some third party templates that are not built inside of Motion, but coded using FxPlug and Quartz and Xcode and such. Those you can not open and modify.

As already asked, specifically what templates did you purchase and from who?

It’s at work for my employer. I’m not in front of the computer. Pretty sure it’s xeffects viral video, in the fxfactory shop

Please share a screenshot of what you mean locked.
Also, you may want to contact the developer's support directly to see if it used other tools other than Motion. It may have used other tools as FCPX Guru explained above.
