Can't see all layers/objects in orthogonal views. Help! was created by grailz
When I use the orthogonal views in Motion, how can I see where all of my elements are without selecting them all?
I've been experimenting with the camera settings (mostly the near/far planes and Depth Of Field) and when I go to the left/right views to start arranging objects in z-space and adjusting my camera settings, everything except the layer or object that's selected disappears. I can see all of my layers/objects when I select everything, but I then run into the problem of not being able to make adjustments to layers individually.
I'm finding this way of working a bit cumbersome. Hoping someone has some light they can shine in my direction to help illuminate me.

Be sure you're moving your vantage point round, and not the physical camera. The key is to know the difference. It takes a bit to get used to. Another thing to watch out for is zooming too much past things.
Highlight a Group, in the Camera view menu (top left of Canvas) select Frame Object (Cmd+Shift+F) to bring your view to frame up that group, and use the 3D Compass (bottom left of Canvas) to switch from top, left, and right views.
Another thing I did when I was first starting was to drag the numeric values up/down of the Position and Rotation parameters in the Properties tab one at a time, just to keep track and some control.
Move small amounts at a time. With a little practice, you'll get the hang of it.

'preciate the help. I think I was experiencing a bug. I re-started Motion and wound up getting the performance I was expecting. All layers are now visible.

What graphics card are you running? There are some minor little screen redraw bugs, but mostly depends on the power of your graphics card. Lots of RAM doesn't hurt, either.

Running an AMD Radeon 6750M GPU with a gig of RAM in a MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM. Would love to double that if prices ever come down.
Running Motion 5.0.1

But, with a MBP or iMac, you're stuck with the GPU you have, can't upgrade. Thus, be sure you get one with the highest end graphics card built in that is sold "at that time". And don't sweat it, cause six to eight months later, something better comes out.

Oh, I meant I would love to double the system RAM. I'm stuck with the GPU but offering up more system RAM in a 64-bit environment can only help matters along.
