Anyone know if its possible to save the settings for motion blur once you've changed them? I don't really like the default settings 8 samples and 360 shutter angle as the default. I'd like to save them as something else but not seeing how to do that.

You could create your own blur effect in Motion with the settings you prefer and publish that out to FCPX for access when you need it.
Creating history....one edit at a time !
