Draw Words and letters using paths?

Hello folks !

Ok, first of all, I'm Final Cut Editor with good knowledges in vfx, Colorist... but I'm not a Motionographer..

What I'm wondering about is how to draw a word , but not like as Type On behavior ( Letter by letter ),
what I DO want is type on a word folllowing the path of the letters... well, I know about Paint Stroke Tool, but is not what I want, so my question is... is it possible convert letters ( or words, doesn't matter) in paths and then type on the letters and words following this path? I didn't figured out how to do it.. I tried to do bringing paths from ilustrador but didn't work. The only way to achieve what I wanted was drawing the path using bezier tool, letter by letter, it works but it was not perfect, some fonts are very complex to draw a path with bezier tool. I refined letters curves using Roundness on Geometry tab... but is a lot of work!! I hope you guys have an easier way to do this.

although fonts are 'vector shapes', and tools like Illustrator allow to convert fonts to vectors, I'm not aware of any way to import such 'drawings' into M5 as shapes

guess, you have something in mind like this to let a light streak run around letters etc, right?

no, no idea to do that with fonts... aside reconstruction with beziers ...

As much as Motion can do with vector graphics, you'd think the dev team would have allowed the importing of them a long time ago. That has always baffled me why that has always been missing...

Yeah, would love to be able to convert shapes and text I create in Motion to vector layers. And be able to import them. That's my only wish for Motion...
