Is there any mFlare alternative for Motion? At $99 is not what you can call cheep. I was playing with the demo version and it is a great plug-in but I think is to expensive at this point. So, is there any alternative?

Hello Dorin. From what I understand is that it is a very powerful tool allowing to make different types of Flares. Another alternative is to make your own in Motion: forums.creativecow.net/thread/170/875064

..... hobbyist speaking here:

From FXPeffects.com

www.fcpeffects.com/collections/entire-ca...ts/lens-flare-plugin
39$ plus/minus frequently discounts, sales, offers, etc. Actually -40% ....

maybe too colorful for the pro, too inyaface, but tons of adjustments in the Inspector for fine tuning. And on-screen controls, for amateurs like me…

No participation, just a satisfied customer! :)

You know what we did in the olden days before there was Knoll's brilliant flare creation system for ye olde After Effects? Shot our own! Each focal length setting and f-stop combination will have a different effect. Each location in the field of view will have a different effect. Just be sure your lens is super clean. Best stuff we shot was in a dark studio with an ellipsoidal studio light. That's the instrument that has an ellipsoidal reflector, internal shutters, and a plank-convex lens on the front. It is a point-source light that will create tons of fabulous flares. You can move the camera or move the lighting instrument.
