Hi all,
Is there a way to publish text box margins for a FCPX plugin?

You mean resize the text box WITHOUT effecting the text size, AND publish a control for it?

Once in FCPX, titles are not boxes, but can be repositioned freely.
So, in trying to move towards a practical solution, what would be the purpose, once in FCPX, to resize a text box? What exactly is the issue you're having, once in FCPX?

Thanks Ben,
I know that I (anyone) can resize the text box in FCPX. Look at the screen shots.
It becomes a laborious when it comes to many text boxes.

OK, I'm still not sure what the goal is. You can do it, but you want to do it a different way. I'm just trying to understand for what purpose, when resizing a text "box" in FCPX isn't really, IMHO, relevant. It only is in Motion. So I'm a tad lost.

Ben,
Changing the text box is not a real issue if only a few ones have to be changed - but imagine a few hundreds, maybe far above a thousand.
And text box size is not an option in Inspector - means you can't save anything to paste to all.
So what's the purpose? It's about title safe subtitles for letterboxed timelines. Okay you can create a new template for each letterbox size. I think that's not a comfortable solution.
