Adding Motion Blur from Motion 5 to FCPX was created by zgemboandislic
I am completely new to video editing, and I'm not intending to do anything professional, just some home videos.
I have a time lapse project in Final Cut Pro, but there is no way to add true motion blur to the video, unless you use Motion 5 or a plug-in. I have Motion 5 but I have no idea how to do it.
If it is too much to explain, can anyone guide me to a good tutorial for idiots? I've searched everywhere, and found a lot of instructions, but all of them presume you are already very familiar with Motion, which I am not.
Thanks in advance!

In FCP X, what if you were to duplicate your clip by holding the option key down and drag it above the original clip and apply a blur effect to the top clip and adjust the blur and opacity to the top clip. Just thinking off the top of my head without trying it my self.

There is no motion blur ability in FCPX, unfortunately.
Quick and easy introduction;
finalcutprox.guru/tutorials/page12/page30/
To apply/adjust motion blur to a layer:
- Render menu, top right of Canvas, be sure Motion Blur is checked.
- Select the Project layer, F1 for the Inspector's Properties tab.
- Second section down is the Motion Blur controls for number of samples and shutter angle.
