PSD Alpha not showing

I have imported a number of PSD files with an alpha and I'm not seeing the alpha in Motion. I changed the file to a TIFF and the alpha is there.

I have seen some weirdness with PSD files at one time or another in every version of FCP X especially with layered files. This includes issues with transparency on drop shadows and color shifting. I have switched over to using .png or .tif when I need transparency or .jpg for full screen files.

Some will wonder about using .jpg but I save as maximum quality and have no issues with them.

I never found layered PSD files all that useful so that's no issue for me. I prefer the elements of a layered file separate on the timeline since I'm probably going to manipulate them individually any way.
