Looking for a smarter way to rig copied groups

OK, I had to rebuild my Team-Generator, a - for me - highly-complex plugin, which allows to select from a drop-down list of player-names and then will display a short animation + video of selected person.

I created a group (Position #1), and rigged snapshots: each player name's a layer, each layer's opacity connected to rig #1.

Then, I copied that group, for Position #2; for sure I need a new rig, 'Position #2'; but I do have to disconnect each name's opacity from rig#1 and re-connect it to new rig #2....

(have to do that for 11 positions...and 22 players)
Hope this makes sense, can apply screen-shots later...

Is there a smarter way for re-rigging?

Or, in other words:
When you re-use a group with rigged elements, is there an easy way to tell the copy to use a different rig than the original?

I'd for sure file this to Apple in the Motion feedback page. This would be very useful to duplicate a Group, and have all of the internal rigging and such duplicate also, and stay linked only to the new duplicated rigging and such. As of now, I don't know of an easy way around this. Maybe someone else does. But for sure a great feature request for Apple.

oops - and I thought, I wasn't smart enough!!
That's really .... inconvenient.

hmmm… ok, maybe not-so-easy to realize, in terms of usage:
How to tell a parameter "no, rig#1 isn't your Daddy anymore, now listen what rig#2 tells you!" ... ?? Would ask for some sort of list "Project items are rigged to …" with a replacement option or somethin' ... :S

Filed a request, thanks for your profound - as always - help, Ben!
