Cinema 4d R14 seems to not work with Motion 5. It hasn't ever been a problem cause i opened it with Motion 4...but now with the new Yosemite....motion 4 does not work. So, I can't save it...and then reopen in motion 5. anyone got any ideas?

Exactly how are you exporting from Cinema 4d? Motion never read 3D model files. Only recently with the mObject plugin, and only with Motion 5. Thus, how are you exporting from Cinema 4d, Quicktime, what codec, etc?

I have some movement in the cinema 4d. Before, you could export this 3D data to motion and it would give you camera position and any object you had moving in 3d space. it never worked with motion 5...but i would open in motion 4 and then save it there....then open it in motion 5. It saves a .motn file....no objs, just 3d data mainly.

OK, yes, this "may" be something lost in Motion 5. I'd check Maxon's own 4d R14 forums to see if anyone has figured out how to get it to work in v.5 now.

What is it or what is it not doing of you exactly?
There where some known issues with Motion 5 and Cinema 4D R13...

I guess I should have explained it better. For example...you make a scene with a camera, a few lights and some objects moving around in cinema 4d. Under the render settings tab you can tell the scene to be a motn file....as well as a AE file, shake file...and some others. It will export the camera data, the light data, and any object your moving in the scene...if you specify, it will export those x,y,z coordinates along with rotation. This file does not open in Motion 5...which it hasn't ever worked in M5. But, i would open motion 4, save it, and then open it in motion 5.

This issue came up again for me, and i figured out what was going on. In cinema4d, in render settings, if you have your save options set to Apple progress 4444 and then save the compositing project file to motion...Motion will not be able to open the project. but if you save your format into png or almost anything else, and then save project file....your good to go and motion will open it just fine. Maybe someone else can try this and let me know...i have used both R14 and R15. This still doesn't mean you can't export your cinema 4d stuff out into proress, you just have to save your motion composite separately and change the format to something else.
