I have a 3d background, and Z fighting is the best way for me to describe what I'm seeing in motion.

I have a replicator thats making a "donut" or hollow cylinder. On top of the replicator I have a plane. No matter how far I move the plane from the replicator, I can still see the edge of the replicator poking through the plane at some camera angles, but not others.

Like I said, in a 3d program, you just increase the distance between the two objects but that's not working here.

Has anyone else had this? What was the fix?

Thanks!

Could you post either your project or a Screenshot of your timeline? Might help to find the problem.

Sorry, I can't.

Do you have any theories? I probably just need a hint of an idea to figure this out. Layering is most likely correct.

Found a work around.

Applied the gradient to the replicator, making 1/2 transparent since only one side seemed to be causing issues.
