i have a file that i want to use in my school but its in Motion 5, i have Motion 3.

Really, in the time it took him to wait for these posts, he could have rebuilt it by now. If you know Motion, you can rebuild this really fast. Get a book, or a video course, learn it, empower yourself to be more like a professional. Please.

In order to tell him how to build that from scratch, I would have to fill half a dozen postings here, and a whole day's time, and it would be pretty much a Motion class, that wasn't getting paid for.

Manuel, what you're asking us to explain to you is very long, very involved, and beyond the scope of a simple user forum. You simply need to learn to use Motion and build that template yourself. There's not much else we can do for you, it's just something that's too long and involved to teach in a forum.

Well actually, he is not asking how to rebuild it he is wanting (I am guessing) a Motion 5 project file for Motion 3.
Which is not really possible unless I am missing a down comparability feature in Motion 5.
If somebody does export you a QuickTime it would not editable.
Maybe a bit more info what you need and what want it for might help us to understand to help you.

I believe the text engines in 3 and 5 are different so it probably won't work, but-

Open up the project in text editor and at the top you will see which version the project was made in. Change from 5 to 3 and save.

Worth a try, duplicate the file first too.
