Hi,
I've been working on a project the involves making a template in Motion 5. This project involves animating video content and I'd like to turn it into a project with placeholders to be used in FCPX.
How do you add placeholders for video/photos in Motion 5? Is it possible? I've been working with Motion 5 for about a month and until now haven't come across a way to do it.
Thanks,
-Athan

To clarify, I'd need multiple place holders. I know that when you start a new effect project in Motion, you get a placeholder.
I know that there are some effects (for example, split screens) that allow you to insert multiple pieces of video into placeholders. Is the only way to attain this by developing a plugin, or is there a way to add another placeholder?

In the Motion 5 manual, it says that the effect source (which I think is what you're referring to) can not be deleted or duplicated. (pg. 497 of the Motion 5 .pdf)
What you can do is add additional drop zones and use publish those in your effects for FCP X.

There are Place Holders and Drop Zones in Motion. They do different things. Drop Zones are where you can add your own content (video, photos, graphic). Place Holders are special. They effect the video just below them. Look at the Titles For FCP X template. That's a place holder, it picks up the video below it. Check out Total Adjustment by RGB HOUSE.
