3d Bezier curve was created by AndyG
Hi all, im sure this must be basic but it's foxing me!
I wish to create a simple 'line on a map' animation in 3d. The effect im looking for is taking off from point A and landing at point B. Ive created this to a degree in 2d by key framing the drop shadow on a bezier curve with the write on behaviour but wanted to go further by adding a camera / dolly etc.
I can't work out how to move the bezier points in Z space to give the effect of rising off the page and setting back down.
Can anyone give me a clue?
Thanks very much in advance.
Andy.

You can't move the points in Z space but the simple way to achieve this is to create your arc in X/Y space - the two ends level with each other, the centre point raised up on the Y axis - and then just rotate the shape through 90 degrees on the X axis. You'll now having a arc that loops up on the Z axis.

Use a write-on behavior to animate it or keyframe the last point offset of the shape.

Adding a light will create a realistic shadow of the shape onto your map.
