I've just read the info about the HUD patent. I was wondering if it somhow annouce that Apple is going to strongly improve the 3D part of motion.
I know.. I am just teasing. But, somehow, I am a dreamer

I'm not holding my breath for a Logic Pro X, either. My bet, the way Apple is going, is that it will be folded into GarageBand in an amateurish way, just like Color was folded into FCP X in an amateurish way.
Thus, I'm experimenting with various 3D apps such as Blender, Cheetah and Kinemac. Not to mention a move from Logic Pro to Studio One.

BenB wrote: To be blatantly honest, based on what's been happening to Motion the past 2 years, I doubt it will grow as a motion graphics app, less as a 3D space motion graphics app. It seems to be de-volving into a pure effects creator for FCP X, type of tool. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of its resources and tools vanish again over the next few updates to simplify it for the task of creating FCP X simply plugins.

You are saying FCPX is amateurish or more simple for amateur pull of the task?
After Apple purchased Color it was dead fish in the pond anyways.

I think FCP X is a pro app, I make a living with it, I'm very heavily invested in it, it is growing in the right direction.
I just think the color board is horrible. And I fear us Logic Pro users who have tons of money and time invested in it to make a living with, will fine ourselves in the same FCP X boat. Scaled down app, some great new things, but the need to re-purchase/replace our old add-on software/hardware. Leaving FCP X with no real pro audio support, just like it has no real color grading support. DaVinci Resolve? It runs CUDA, requires BlackMagic hardware, and FCP X runs OpenCL and works with my current AJA hardware. I don't consider that a real, solid type of support.
