Motion 5 Worm Template

Hello, I'm making a short film for school called "Worm," and I would like to have a title screen made on my Motion 5 program. I just got Motion and have no experience with it, so I thought I would ask the Internet before I immediately dove into trying to make this specific graphic I have in mind.

I have this idea of an animated worm crawling into frame and contorting itself into the cursive spelling of the word "Worm," then holding there for a moment then unraveling and squirming out of frame again. It sounds super simple to do if I only knew how to run Motion effectively. My question is this:
Has anyone made something similar to what I"m describing here? Maybe do you have a template I can download or something? Or any advice at all would be just great too.
Thanks.

Can be done. I'd make the worm with a Replicator for his body. He is going to be a Group to himself. Then put your text on the screen, and use the bezier drawing tool to draw where he will crawl. That line will have it's visibility turned off, but will be the source for a Motion Path behavior you apply to the worm. Keyframing the start and end offsets will help him start and stop at specific places.

It's a bit involved to explain in detail. But it's not what I'd call a first time user project. But you could do it. Ripple Training has some great training, and after you do the Fast Start to get up and running, the Shapes course they have will give you all the tools to do this, mostly.

I'd be happy to help set up a rough template for you.

That sounds fantastically helpful. Being (very) new to Motion, I honestly don't even know what a lot of those words you just used mean.. ha. But I think I know enough to figure it out from what you've given me. But if you could somehow help with any kind of template, that'd be spectacular.

Thank you for the response.
