HOW TO ANIMATE HEALTH BAR IN FINAL CUT PRO

I'm making a real life video game video and I'm trying to put a health bar in the video. i've made the health bar with illustrator but I don't know how to animate it so that the health increases (if the bar is half green it fills up to full green) does anyone know how to animate it?

is the health bar filled in? If so you can just use your crop tool to animate it growing or depleting. If you have an outline around a solid green/red bar, have 2 layers the top layer be the outline and the bottom layer be the color, and go ahead and use the crop tool on this color. You can use Keyframes so the bar grows or just use cuts and the bar will instantly fill up.
