Replacement for DVDSP?

So with the new macOS coming out, and FCP7 and all it's apps being disabled, does anyone know a good alternative to DVDSP that is NOT Adobe Encore?

Toast is an alternative, not sure how good of an alternative it is.

I thought that was more of a 'just need to burn this thing on DVD' kinda program, not a full fledged DVD Authorizing program like DVDSP was. Where i can really take over the DVD manually and make it something unique and part of my business.

Encore is EOL for quiet a while either…

Sounds cynical, but if you need an old app, use an old computer.

Nobody forces you to update any ol' trusty Mac, keep it running on 10.6, 10.5, whatever - if you need a fully flavoured DVD authoring app as DVSP was …

Oh yea, I know Encore isn't supported anymore either, but as far as I know it'll still be supported on the newest operating system.

And I know I can just not update my computer, but I only have one iMac and I like to make sure I'm up to date on everything, and I don't want to buy a second computer. I would prefer to just boot camp windows 10 if needed

I have not found any good DVD authoring apps other than DVDSP or iDVD.
Any Mac can boot off an external with an older operating system.
I would suggest that you keep a clone of current system in which DVDSP is working for you. In High Sierra after exporting from FCPX a master file to your external drive, you reboot into the older system and author your DVDs.
AFAIK, a master file will still be OK in DVDSP, but will ask the community if I am right. The new file system APFS and 64bit may or may not affect the master file output. Also an unknown is whether or not Apple will change the export format in future versions of FCPX.
Apple has stated that legacy FCS will NOT be supported in High Sierra so really EOL/RIP. So for everyone that needs to use FCS legacy, you will need to keep a bootable version of older macOS on a partition or external drive.

Hope this helps, Greg

that actually sounds like a great idea! all i need is an external drive, not a new program or computer or a purchase of Windows. Thanks!

and i usually export to compressor and make my .ac3 and .m4v files so I can manually make sure the file size is perfect for what i'm doing. I usually have about three different vidoes going onto the DVD, and i like to make sure they'll all fit just fine, with some videos having better quality than another video.
