Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have been using FCP 4 for simple video editing. Recently I received a file from a friend in GErmany (MVI_8898.mov), most probably shot in HD in PAL format. When I tried to 'import' it into FCP 4, I got a 'General Error.'

I tried shooting a HD video with my own Canon 5D (NTSC) and generate a file called MVI_8144.mov. I could import it into FCP 4 without a problem.

I cannot figure out why FCP 4 can't import the file from Germany. I'd appreciate any insight into this matter from this group. I'm including two screenshots of the attributes of these two video files as displayed by Quicktime 7.0's Inspector.
