I recently completed a project in FCP 7 and created an AVI using Quicktime Conversion with 16:9 aspect ratio. The final file size is 2.11 GB but when another editor tried to import the file to use with Adobe Premiere, the system could not see the video. When opened on another system, the file size read as 72mb. Any help would be appreciated. Frankly I've never attempted anything but print to video in the past, but I need to learn the ins and outs of creating various file formats.

Premiere Pro can read many different formats and export in as many. You could export as ProRes (much larger file than your AVI). Premiere Pro can read ProRes but its windows sibling cannot export in that format. it would be best if you could give some more info on the project specs> That would help in suggesting a codec for that particular workflow.

Export and deliver ProRes 422, PPro will read it fine.
