Hi all,
My up-to-now very stable suite has thrown a wobbly. I'm running Mavericks 10.9.5 on a 2,1 MacPro, and X (latest) and 7 (last version with updates) have co-existed fine, with 7 running without a glitch on numerous occasions.
Booted up last week to cut a taster tape for a client and 7 won't load - doesn't even get to the splash screen. Just beach balls and hangs.
Nothing has changed on the suite. No auto-updates.
I've trashed prefs, and checked permissions. Everything seems normal.
Any suggestions, as ever, will be gratefully received. I've a client in on Tuesday and I need to get it working!
Cheers,
Jason

Ouch
Didn't happen to add any plug-ins last time did you?
Just a thought.
Have you tried to open FCP7 as a different user?
Hope this helps, Greg

Thanks Greg, I'll have a go with another user. No new plugins installed, just a bog-standard 7 installation.
Interestingly i just left it to beachball. After about 3 minutes it booted as normal, and ran fine...
'Puzzled' is an apt description at the moment!!

Maybe try to repair your original user.
