So we sent a client a guide on how to transcode the raw media we sent them the same way as we have in our workflow so that at their end they can link the project to the media which will be identical and have the same naming structure that we used.
Everything went well except for some reason, the 'clip time' attribute in the naming convention is producing files with a name that has the clip time one hour later than what we have on our version of the transcodes and which the project links to.
What could be doing this?

Time zone settings on the computer. IF they are set incorrectly the computer may shift the time from the camera by the amount the computer is off. At least this is how it works in Aperture.

Seriously? My first thought as soon as I was told everything was off by an hour was that it was DST but I dismissed the theory because the time was recorded by the camera at the time of recording and should be absolute. The client is actually in a completely different country as well just to confuse things more. I've advised them to set the date back to before the daylight savings change but perhaps the different timezones will affect things too. I can't understand at all why it has any effect at all, the clip time attribute is just meta information produced by the camera so why would that be in anyway variable?
Anyway thanks. I hope this fixes things, if setting the date back hasn't worked I'll tell them to set their timezone to ours as well.
