Basically, my friend shot a film and the editor and colorist delivered a project file that only works on their computers and cannot find anything on the drives. They have stuff all over the place, nothing is organized and plugging it into my friends computer gets nothing but a bunch of files that aren't linked....

Neither the editor or colorist are interested in fixing the problem and so I'm trying to find out basically how to fix this. He as FCP7 on his mac... Is there an easy way to put all of the files on one drive, instead of 2 without literally trying to find the files one by one?

I do not remember FCP7 having a Consolidate command, like in FCPX. I think you'll have to do it manually.

I always taught in my classes that taking the time to do good file management would save time and money down the road. Here is another real world example of that.

Yep, I'm afraid you're going to have to manually organize things. Unless there's something in FCP7 I forgot about. Haven't touched it in so long...
