Not Coping with light was created by Charliebudd
Hello All
I am new to editing, and I am still trying my best to learn with youtube tutorials.
Yesterday i used my new action pro camera hd in my car whilst taking part in a track day.
The picture of in side this car is perfect. but anything past the window is just a wall of white. there doesn't seem to be any setting i can change on the camera. is there away of making what is outside the windows visible?? below is a link to a clip of the video .
thanks in advance.

Use a polarizing filter on the camera.
In post, you'll have to mask out the overblown brights, and town them down, but you'll not get much detail from them.

Hello Charliebudd, I think you are expecting too much of your Action Cam. It has to decide on the settings, either capturing the car interieur or the outside race track. The light difference is extreme. And as BenB already pointed out, you won't get back the overblown whites. One solution would be to place the camera close to the front screen. You'll lose the car interieur including yourself at the wheel, but the outside would look fine, I guess. Even better: two cameras, one for the inside, one for the outside. The brightness difference is one of the reasons that in many productions the in-car shots are often done with greenscreens, in order to add the outside shots later.

thanks for your reply. i run 2 cameras last year a go pro and just a normal sony handcam. these seem to cope fine with the light differences. is there definately no way that the action camera would cope with this ?
