video drift on external monitor

video drift on external monitor was created by Harry
Hello,
We recently upgraded one of our FC suites to an HD suite.
Now we came across a problem and hope you guys can help.
When playing back any HD material in Final Cut we have a video drift on
the external video monitor.
The video looks fine and in sync within Final Cut but all external video signals seem to drift.
If we switch the Playback Quality at the RT drop down from high to medium
it works.
This only happens with HD material. SD runs fine.
Has anyone an idea what could cause the drift and is there a chance to monitor in full HD
quality ??
We've already updated the AjA drivers and trashed the FC prefs.
We also used different clips with different codecs.
System:
AJA Kona LHe card straight into JVC DT-V24 HD monitor
down converted signal from the AjA goes into an SD CRT monitor.
MacPro 2.66Ghz QuadCore
6GB RAM
Aja Kona LHe driver 9.0.5
XSAN infrastructure via fibre channel

What exactly do you mean by drift?
What is the footage format?
RT settings should be set to Dynamic.
Down converting HD to SD broadcast Monitirung? Really? For what purpose? That's very interesting.

With audio and video drift I mean that the outputted video signal (to external monitor - SDI) lags behind the audio and the delay increases while playing back.
We work for example with 1080i50 XDCAM HD 422, and other HD formats.
RT is currently set to
Playback frame rate - full fames
Playback Quality - high
As far as I remember we've tried switching to dynamic on both without luck.
But I will try again to be on the safe side.
We do many broadcast shows including subtitles for Europe therefore we always monitor also the downconverted video image on a standard SD screen.
The downconversion is done by the AJA card.

So you're monitoring HD on an SD monitor? Odd.
Anyway, I'd think it's latency in the AJA card doing the downconversion. Is the audio coming out of the AJA card, too?

yes we are using the scondary out to downconvert to SD.
But the primary output is HD and goes directly into the HD video monitor.
Audio is coming out of the AJA card.
I'll try to contact AJA and see what they've got to say.
Thanks

Be sure you have the latest AJA driver version, too.

I have had the same problem as well. We have the audio going out from the aja card (with the latest driver) to a mixer and the picture going to a small Panasonic monitor and a client TV. The panasonic monitor is kind of in sync but the client monitor is way out. The longer the piece the worse the drift. It has boggled my mind for a while. AJA didn't have any answers.
System:
AJA Kona 3 card SDI into Panasonic BT-LH1700WP HD monitor
also going into an AJA HDMI converter box to HDMI out to 50" LG TV
MacPro 2X 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon
32GB RAM
Aja Kona 3 driver 9.0.5
