Audio Filters - Reverberation or EQ? was created by w032182
What filters and settings in Final Cut Pro 7 can give the effect of music/dialog in a medium-large sized club?
Using the Reverberation filter seems to get me very close to simulating a club on my music track and my dialog tracks, but it still feels a little off. Is it time for EQ? What frequencies are resonate to the average ears while in a large club. Muddled low's? Crisp highs?

It is all about the reverb timing, it has to be timed to the beat of the music actually to get the best effect realistically. Working with pre-recorded tracks, that is a little tough to do. But the point is to look at the visual, how large is the room? What does the reverb sound like in the audio track of the room video?
EQ can help, also, yes. Depends on the club, the type of music the DJ is playing, what the physical room is like. So I'd ask, how large of a room is this? What are the walls, floor, and ceiling covered with/made of? I'll assume it is packed full of people. And what type of music is the DJ playing. DJ's will EQ their sound system to the type of music being played and the room they're in.
Average ears will depend on all of those factors. It is the environment and DJ that create the sound average ears will hear.

I sincerely appreciate your attention.
I'm working with a recording done in a studio environment. So there isn't any reference in the music that I'll be able embellish. The room is fairly large, and the amount of people is implied because the scene plays out in very tight close ups.
