FCP7 SD sequence to HD

I have a FCP7 project I'm doing some edits on and they started the project in a 720x480 sequence, yet it was
shot in HD and they want it to be finished in HD

Is there a way to get all the edits back into an HD sequence?
I've also tried importing the xlm and edl to no avail.

Each time I try and change the settings the footage is stretched and made smaller.

Thank you!

1) Duplicate the SD sequence.
2) Right click the duplicated sequence and go to Settings.
3) Set the frame size to HDTV 1080i and set the Pixel Aspect Ratio to Square, then click Accept.
4) Select all the clips in the timeline, right click, Remove Attributes.
5) Check Basic Motion and Distort, Accept.

IMPORTANT
Keep in my that by doing this you will lose any scaling and centering (reframing) made to the media when it was in SD. To get it just the same, before doing all this, export a quicktime movie of the SD video. Then, after doing all the steps, put your SD video over the HD (SD in V2 track, HD in V1 track), set opacity to 50% of the SD video, scale the SD video to have the same size as the HD and check for reframed or scaled up shots.

Hope it helps!
