when I am prepping footage for editing, I genearlly put colored markers for each characters line beginning

i am watching the footage and stoppping when i hear the line start, back up and then mark. it would be MUCH faster if i could just let the video play and add a marker 1 second after their line starts. then when im done select all of them and shift them back 1 second. this would save me having to stop, rewind mark for each line

i know i can cmd+click and move each individual marker after the fact which is better than nothing, but is there any way to just shift all markers back the same amount of time? I'm talking about markers on individual clips NOT sequences. so in the viewer window

thanks!

Not had to do this before but could you place the markers on an adjustment layer and then shift that layer back by a second? On ipad at the moment so cant check on fcpx.

I take it that you are in FCP 7 or earlier

You could try this free software from Andreas Kiel B)
