Hello People.
I am really struggling to find any information (anywhere) on how to get MTS files working on my Final Cut 7.
It is from a new camera I just bought which is called the Panasonic Ag-Ac90.
When I try to go to log and transfer, the clip comes up but there are no visuals nor any time duration, and I cant import them.
I am still running Snow Leopard if that makes a difference?
Please Help!!
Thanx a lot

FCP 7 hasn't been updated since it was discontinued, so newer codecs like this will need to be converted into ProRes by some third party application. I'm not sure what does this for that specific camera, but I'm sure someone here will know and post that information.

Hello, to try to edit MTS files need to keep the camera folder created. Log and data intensive open and you select the top left, then top right to choose Options capture format. Recomnad Apple intermediate codec.

Out of curiosity, why Apple Intermediate Codec Marianoprea as opposed to ProRes?

AIC was a predecessor to ProRes, not as robust, very inferior codec, and not supported by anything but iMovie. Never use AIC, use ProRes, much more robust, retains more quality, solidly supported, far superior to the now much outdated AIC.

Hello,I am a professional cameraman and make home video editing. We tested all codecs: ProRes, Apple intermendiate codec, etc.. The best in terms of processing is ProRes but you need powerful computer and large storage space. So after many tests the most convenient is Apple intermediate codec. Trust me. Try and see as rendering goes faster and look good.
Thanks
