Splitting footage

Hi all,

I tried to search but I cannot find a quick answer to my question and all the thing I try even reading the manual is not working for me.

Basically I started to record video of the music nights that I organize using a Zoom Q3HD, not the best camera out there but the sound it's perfect and the footage it's ok.

I normally record the set of one band all in one file of 50mins length, the Zoom provide a trim functionality that is a bit tedious to use, up until now I have used Pro Tools for the editing but it's time consuming to.

Can somebody give easy to follow step by step instructions on how to split the 50mins footage to individual songs to be bounced?

Thanks in adavence

Many ways to do this, here's one that takes a bit of time.
I'd label the original as such.
Select it in the Browser, Command-D to duplicate it, name that copy the same as the first song.
Right-click that copy and select Open In Timeline.
Trim it down to only that song.
Repeat for each song. There is no magical "cut it up for me" button, sorry.

Or what I have personally done in a very similar situation is, skim my original clip, hit I and O to create a range around the first song. Command-K for the keyword editor and key word it the name of the song. Then create a keyword range for each song. When you select the keyword collection for a song in the Event Library, you'll only have access to that range of the original.

Or you could do the same but make them Favorite ranges, and name each Fav the name of the song. Then set the clip filter (top left of the Browser) to Favorites. Poof, you have each individual song in a Browser list.

So many ways to do this...
