FCPX 10.05 released
If you want a full 100% uninstall of an Apple pro app, "Final Cut Remover" free from Digital Rebellion is the best and safest way to go. Will remove any legacy Final Cut Studio app, Final Cut Server, Aperture, FCPX, Motion 5, etc, etc.
If you're going to target pro apps, get the pro app remover. Don't risk some half assed job from a generic whatever.
No offense intended, but these are better solutions for "pro apps". Just FYI.

Installing fresh (not over writing) has fixed problems in the past after updating for me.
Nope I left them days after closing out Windows. :woohoo:

Anyone here using Magic Bullet or Neat Video can confirm if the new update plays nicely with those plug ins?

I just tested this for you on my Mac Pro with MBL2, Lion 10.7.4 and FCPX 10.0.5. No problems. Using Red Giant's latest update all seems to work well. Don't have Neat Video plugin.
As you probably know, what works for one user in FCPX doesn't necessarily work for another depending on what hardware and software.

Alex4D pointed out on Twitter that the LAFCPUG is scheduled to have a presentation from Apple on June27th to talk about "new feature releases".
As Alex acutely points out, talking about the features of 10.0.5 would take all of about 5 minutes ("Everything's sharper!"). Is Ben correct about a second point update this month to coincide with FCPX's 1 year anniversary?
www.lafcpug.org/user_schedule.html
My original projection was that FCPX 10.0.5 would launch on the 19th or the 26th. Considering how far in advance these updates need to be planned, was it impossible to bundle additional features into the "Retina" update? Will we see 10.0.6 this month in time to demo new features for the LAFCPUG on the 27th?
Will Lassie find Timmy trapped down the well before it's too late?
We'll know in a few weeks...

I look at it this way, the 10.0.5 was not just an FCPX update, it was part of a larger effort by Apple to update all of their software products for retina display. That iWork and Logic were not included (yet) is very interesting. But FCPX, Motion, iMovie, Aperture, etc, all got Mountain Lion and retina updates. So it was just part of an update process that had nothing to do with FCP alone. To me it was not an "FCP update", it was an "Apple Software retina update". Very different thing. And update to the Apple family, not to FCP.
I'm still expecting an "FCP X feature" update on the anniversary next week.
Since Apple has stated publicly in the beginning they have a 10 year development plan in place for FCP X, the updates are not going to stop. Slow down maybe, but not stop. So even if we get a 1st anniversary update, there's still tons for Apple to tell us about the future of FCP X (and Motion I hope also).
But, as is typical Apple, we won't know until they speak. But that's my opinion.
I just emailed Micheal to see if they're going to post a video of the Apple presentation and Steve Martin's presentation online or even stream them. Let him know many of us not in Cali are anxious to get this information. Crossing my fingers for a swift and joyfully positive reply.

If you take a look inside 10.0.5, the retina graphics for the built-in effects, transitions, titles and generators were created in February.
The timing for 10.0.5 was probably set the launch of new hardware. Maybe it was originally going be launched in a spring event (like the iPhone used to), but was delayed, so the retina elements of 10.0.4 were delayed for 10.0.5.
The simplest way for Apple to reassure those unsure about the future for non-consumer products is to for them introduce more non-consumer features to their applications.
Given that FCPX contains a significant portion of Motion (to play back effects) and some of Logic, it would be prudent for Apple to show tighter integration between 10.0.? and other applications.

Thanks dgwvideo & mobiletaylor for the info on Magic Bullet.
I contacted NeatVideo and they have tested 10.05 and say its safe for their plug-in.
All good!
