My and your experience in X was created by Scrubelicious
Hello hello fellow Final Cut users,
well after a several of days of training and a several days of horse playing in FCPX (home videos and stuff).
I would like to share what I think and experience with the new FCP!
Hey and share your experience here...
Anywho..
One thing that I have really enjoyed using in FCPX is the Event Library. I really enjoyed organizing and managing my clips thats crazy! I don't know how many clips I have in my Event Library but I would like to know when FCPX will start to drag... if it can over populate with Media?
Editing in FCPX is not so bad after all. Just a little getting used to... but I did 95% of it with the keyboard. From the "Viewer" IN and OUT pop it into the "Timeline" and right back to the "Viewer".
I could... I repeat... I could see myself editing in FCPX if they do some tweaking and adding.
For example the Inspector feels not completed and I don't like the resizing of my video when I open up the Scopes. Let me keep my video real-estate.
The coloring, you know, the wheel is better. Oh which I would also like to add I do miss Apple Color but if they add some of the features to FCPX and make a new "Room" like in Smoke where the video fills the screen with floating controls and tools :woohoo:
Here is a epic fail Luma Range Check WTF where is it? Sharing projects is a big must in our shop.
I mean these are things that can be added, to bad Apple likes to keep there mouth shut and decided on that day what they want to release and trash. But one thing is a fact I will keep working in FCPX for some small personal and independent projects and watch mature if it ever does  In fact I am planning to do a Music Video all in FCPX and Motion. Sounds crazy huh?
I have Demo presentation for Avid lined up at the IBC so I will give it another try and the other flavors out there.
I will be adding more soon but for know I am going to bed! It's late!

Well thank you for your experiences.
I have been using FCP X really non-stop since it first arrived.
There are some areas for improvement but overall I will write that I absolutely love this video editor.
I know that there are many things missing from this editor that are essential to some, notably those in the broadcast industry, or those requiring multi-cam, however for my own purposes FCP X represents a massive leap forward in productivity.
Once you get the hang of the way this application operates I suspect that you would not want to go back to FCP prior to X.
I will say that to those who are used to using FCP 1-7 then this is a major change in the way you go about editing video.
It is important to read the Help. You will find that getting your head around it is essential. As long as you keep approaching it as if it were FCP 1-7, then you will be very unhappy. Once you realise that you must abandon the FCP 1-7 ways and adopt new ones then fairly soon you will start to really enjoy using this editor.

I'm Slowly finding my way about,
but seem to be limited by what I know rather than the capability of the software.
Seems to be able to do pretty much anything I can dream up, which is nice.
Crashtastic software tho, I'm on a MBP with 8gb ram the faster processor and 1 500gb SSD, running Lion . . . crash central on FCPX.
I hold almost all the footage off the MBP on an external drive, wondering if that is the issue causing the crashes?
Hoping that faster external drives will make the problem go away? (failing that being the issue, I can honestly say I've never seen such a crashy piece of software) but, I still plug away with it.
it "hangs" lots but doesn't actually seem to bring the whole system down.
my "best" to date www.vimeo.com/28302156
