Fcp x Transition help 18 Aug 2011 15:24 #902

Hello everyone,

A very new FCP user here so please bear with me. I have just started editing, so my knowledge is extremely basic. I am trying to add a transition between two video clips in fcp x, so I drag the desired transition between the clips and get the green ‘+’ sign, but when I release the mouse button the transition goes down to the start of my audio bar and stays there? Does anyone know why this could be? I am probably doing something wrong.

I have watched the izzy tutorial video on this subject, and it looks simple, but does not seem to work with mine.

Just for info, I am trying to edit a music video, so I have all the footage and I have inserted an MP3 of the studio recorded track.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

B

Sounds like your audio is on the primary story timeline
If you select the two clips that need the transition and
create a storyline (CMD + G), now try applying the transition
