Split screen effect help

Hello,

I'm going to be working on a music video soon and I want to do it the same style as in this one but I don't know how to do the screen split effect, I've seen other versions posted in this part of the forum such as TKYs 4-way asymmetric split screen but not one that does this particular style.

As you can see he has the lines on the screen sometimes they don't go into a transaction, sometimes they do and others show multiple clips in them then switch.

I was wondering if you could point me to a template like this or tell me how to do it?

Creating that transition in Motion should be super easy. I'm sure someone has done it in the free templates section of this forum. Cruise through there, you'll probably find it.

You have to pay for it. I have used a few of their plug-ins and they are great.

Those are static split screens. What the OP originally showed as an example is a transition. I'd spend the money on Ripple Training's intro to Motion 5 course, learn the basics, create your own.

I found one that sort of did the effect in the forum,

Ahh only problem with it though is when you put a clip into it, it eithers speeds up or slows down the footage selected

HEY GUYZ THE SPLIT SCREEN EFFECT IS REALLY SIMPLE..YOU DONT REALLY NEED ANY PLUGINS TO ACHIEVE A GREAT SPLIT SCREEN EFFECT MAKE SURE YOU ADD 3 VIDEO TRACKS OF THE SAME VIDEO CLIP (ON TOP OF EACH OTHER) AND CROP EACH TRACK TO LOOK LIKE ITS BROKEN UP IN 3 DIFFERENT PLACES..ALSO REMEMBER NOT TO PUT THEM TOO CLOSE TOGETHER...YOU MUST LEAVE A THIN BLACK LINE FOR BEST RESULTS TO GIVE IT THE SPLIT SCREEN EFFECT LOOK...CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO I SHOT USING THE CROP TOOL TO GIVE THE SPLIT SCREEN EFFECT...ENJOY

Yes you have to prepare the clip before to put inside... all the slipscreen on the market works like that.... it's a pity I know

Not a big fan of Final Cut Pro X feels way different from any of the other editing softwares I've used (FCP7 and Sony Vegas) don't like the timeline layout

With the time I save using a faster NLE like X, you couldn't pay me enough to go back to the slow, clunky, awkward legacy FCP or any other of the already out dated NLEs.

The split screen your using in the video you poster, were did you get it from. how can i get that one ? nice video

Read his post above the video...he tells you how he made it as opposed to using any type of plugin.

Also sorry to be a bother but does anyone know how to do the font style on the screen at the beginning?

I used text and drop shadow option but it doesn't look like that and I can't figure out the font used
