Sharing to Youtube/Facebook was created by olympus.filmfed
Several times now, I have tried to share a project of mine to youtube or facebook and it has not worked. It starts out great, but at about 95%, it stops loading and time remaining grows and grows. I have waited for quite a while, but it does not start going again. I have been forced to go to youtube and upload a video from the website, and this, at least as far as I know, does not allow me to upload HD video. Doing it through the share option in FCPX allows 1080p HD video, so that is definitely the option I would like to use, but it stops. Does anyone else have this problem and/or know a solution?

I've given up trying to use this feature. It works with small files but won't for anything large. I think it's a problem from Vimeo's end. I just export my file, compress it and upload it myself.

But his problem is with Youtube, not Vimeo so maybe there is a general issue with FCPX sharing large files period.

Also, on youtube, as far as I could see, going to youtube and uploading the video only allows for 480p video. What would the use be of having a nice camera that shoots 1080p video if it can only be uploaded in 480p. Doing it through FCPX, it definitely allows 1080p.

I use this feature without problem (even 1080p). It stays at 95% when it starts the upload to YouTube. Depending on your internet speed, it just takes a while. I let that stuff run over night. When I wake up in the morning, it is up and running.

I tried again with a 1080p 3 minute video I made (The Silver Chair High School Fan Trailer), and again it got stuck at 95%. I went and ate dinner though, and when I came back is was done. I guess that I was just too impatient all the other times. Thanks for the help.

It's quicker to export the file, compress it and load it manually. I hate doing all that waiting to be told the upload failed. I'm just going to wait until they fix the problem before I try again. Not worth the aggravation.
