long list of thumbnails

I'm new to fcp7 and use it for news. our crews use sd cards to record. When you log and transfer you end up with a long list of thumbnails which i want to quickly reorganise into about 10 minute subclips relating to the sequences I filmed. I can lasso, drop them onto timeline and make a sequence, but it's not a great system. Any other ideas ? Can i make fcp7 transfer it in one big batch for me to break down with markers etc ? Thanks.

But yes you can subclip, or move clips into bins, or both.

If you alt-doubleclick on a bin it will open it in a new tab, or you can just work with them in list view.
