Guys, Apple is really listening! was created by leohans
Today
I had send a bug feedback to Apple regarding layered PSD file importing.
In less than three hours I got an e-mail from an Apple employee asking me to send him the PSD file.
A few minutes after I sent it he replied letting me know that he could reproduce the problem.
I am glad to know Apple is really listening to us. This time I know it from my own experience.
Here is the mail screenshot:

Yes, I have received two emails recently from Apple based on feedback I've submitted. I was pleasantly surprised.

Any chance you could post the PSD file somewhere on the web. Thanks very much.

I can, but it was tested on several FCPX seats and it makes freeze FCPX.
I tried deleting layers, effects, etc. but the issue persisted.

Yes they do.
Mailed them yesterday with a bug, got a reply today that they wanted to know more.

Ronny: groetjes
The bug was, I had a small timeline and I put an XDCAM HD file on it. Proxy media on.
I used the new Call-outs plugin from Ripple Training (which I'm really pleased about, btw).
I made a 2 freeze frames in the clip and put 2 titles above it, from the Call-outs. Next to each other, so following up each other.
Then I couple seconds further I selected a range (in the same clip), and I went to the retime menu, selected the Hold function for another freeze frame, and suddenly the 2 titles that I had put next to each other were above each other in the timeline.
My solution was just to make a cut with the blade tool to splice the clip in 2 and if I then made the other freeze frame, the 2 titles stayed in place.
And, another strange thing, I repeated the process of making a freeze frame, and putting the Callouts title above it for another 8 times in the same clip, did not have the problem again.
Only in the beginning where I put those 2 titles just following up each other.
Luckily I could reproduce the problem (made a duplicate project, did the same thing, had the same issue) and took some screenshots to send to them.
Put my screenshots in the attachments too. (screenshot 1: just the clip with the 2 orange titles above it, screenshot 2: making the range (don't mind the graphics), screenshot 3: when I choose the hold option to make the freeze frame, you can see the 2 titles on top of each other).
Already got a reply from Apple that they will send it to their engineers.

Thank you for posting this. And hey, you are right: I have just reproduced exactly the same issue on a totally different project using completely different titles. It is a bug. Please post back if you get a reply from Apple.

Does this only happen with Callouts? I assume not.

Thanks, Ronny. Nice to know I'm not the only one.
I was already afraid that if I just had this bug, because of a mis-understanding of the magnetic timeline (still learning some gotchas on that), or a wrong install. It would feel a bit silly having people at Apple busy with clearing up my installation error.
But if you have the same bug, on another system, it's a comfort to know that it's probably a real bug. Hadn't tested other titles yet, good to know.
The only way how we can have Apple make a better FCP X, is if everyone gives them feedback on bugs, features, complaints but also compliments. This thread proves that although they are a secretive company, they *do* listen and are busy making FCP X better every day.

Yes it is a bug, and your workaround is a good solution unit it gets fixed. I have made a note of this for our editors. Thanks for sharing.
