I've imported my video from my camera to the FCP X Event Library. I want to loop it. I want to burn it onto a DVD. The problem I'm having is I am unable to figure out how to get the video into the Project Library, for openers, anyway. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

You make a new project and edit your video into it. Looping the video is a function of the DVD authoring application like iDVD.

I strongly recommend that you splash out on the Ripple Training FCPX course (or something similar). You'll be up and running in a day with it and never look back. Its seriously the best way to start off with the program, and unlocks most of the hidden features that will speed up your workflow. Great value for money.

Hello Im a FCPX Beginner also and my question is Im working on a video that I imported from an HD canon camera (VIXIA HFR21) I have to footage on the primary timeline but my problem is how do I loop a background image properly because my background has 2 black spots in it that I have to cut out and for some reason if I put a transition on a clip it puts a black background behind my transition effect any way to get around this?

2nd Q: is there only one way to add clips to the Storyline or Timeline? Ive watched some videos on youtube and I have a one to one training at the app store on how to add setup a project I think I got the feel of it but I still need more help I guess what Im asking is there a pacific format to follow when adding clips without having the issue of going back and changing things around I know you can but when I change things around I mess up more than I want not just a few clips.
can any one help me I know theres some courses I can take and I am getting some help but I guess I wanted someone to tell me a method or trick or some sort .

Q1: Don't really understand how you described your first question. Can you clarify?

Q2: Add clips to the timeline by selecting them in the event browser and press E to append them at the end of the sequence, press W to insert them into the timeline at the current playhead position, or Q to add them as a connected clip.

Before you do the above, in the event browser, select the clip and begin playing it. At the point you want as IN, hit the I key and likewise hit O for the out point. Then when you use E, W or Q you will be adding just that part of the clip.

You can also set in and out and just drag the clip from the event browser to your timeline.

I have a Motion Background behind my primary video but for some odd reason some of my basic transitions don't show the background behind it. I don't understand it either but I'm going to the one to one class tomorrow I will ask them what I should do

Dude, skip the One-On-One at the Apple store, they'll probably give you bad information anyway. Get the Ripple Training videos for sure. You get to download the tutorial media and follow the videos getting hands on from professional editors.
