relinking files was created by parkerhqj
For no discernible reason, much of my b-roll in a project has been come unlinked. The files are all red in the timeline (it says missing event but there are only two events and both are in the browser) and black in the browser. When I go to relink the files, I am told the files are incompatible. Has anyone else encountered this?

They usually tell me that the project needs to be updated which would resolve that. I actually solved the problem by switching back to my original computer. I tend to run into problems when I copy events and/or projects to new drives. Thanks.

Only copy your Events and Projects from inside of FCP X.

When you copy them, are you putting them inside of root level folders called Final Cut Events and Final Cut Events Projects on the new drive?
