FCOP with 50p and 60p

Previous versions of FCP could not import using the camera import function media that was 50 or 60p. Saw this on the Apple forum.

"I checked the latest update, and now fcpx will import from my sony a65 in 60p, edit it, and then export it as 59.94. If I remember to change the preferences back to optimized rather than proxy, the exported file looks great."

Anybody have any cameras that shoot 50p or 60p willing to test this further? That would be great.

Thanks.

I am anxious to see if we can now import over and undercranked footage into FCPX. It locked dead as soon as it reached that type of clip in 10.0.3. At least for me it did. Panasonic P2 24p with footage at 12fps or similar variable frame rate.

Creating history....one edit at a time !

I have imported 60p from my Sony CX560V however the audio is converted from 5.1 to stereo and its not done accurately. I read somewhere else about this issue with importing 5.1 sound into FCP with 60p clips.

Ive been having major issues importing any 60p footage out of my a77 or vg20. I am borderline on switching to another software.

Yes i have that same problem with the audio switching from 5.1 to stereo where as ClipWrap
keeps the 5.1 audio.

cheers

Everything I shoot on my FS100 comes into FCPX fine.
25p overcranked to 50p and super slo-mo which is actually interlaced.

You're 50p media is interlaced? Where? In the event browser? In the project? What specs does the project have?

Nooo. The super slomo function of the FS100 is interlaced - perfectly normal functioning.

The 'normal' shooting modes are as they should be.
