Published Motion Effect overwrites project thumbnails? was created by CBlakeston
I've been trying to tidy up some website logos, bugs, or whatever you might want to call them that sit in the corner of the screen. I've been laying pngs across the top of a finished timeline but rather then import the graphics into events and adding them as I have been doing. I've thought i'd publish them through motion so everything is organised in the titles area.
Everything seems to work fine using the motion method. But when I move out of the editing timeline into the project overview - where there are normally thumbnails of the video in question next to the projects name - its somehow reading the thumbnail of the motion title I've published and drawing that as thumbnails.
Is anyone else seeing this behaviour or am I doing something really wrong?

I could be wrong about this, but I think FCPX uses the top layer of video (which would be your titles) to create those thumbnails. I always seem to see any titles I make stacked above a video clip show up that way too.

Yes. That's it exactly. I'm glad it's not just me. I thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks
