grid overlay? was created by waddo
Is there a grid overly to help with straightening video? Seascapes are especially problematic.

here's a motion Generator, mess with the parameters all you want, I just did a default for my PAL setup, drop it into the generators folder in the motion templates folder inside the movies folder...I'm sure you know the drill:)

Hi Lee. Thanks very much for your kind help. Unfortunately I am pretty clueless with FCP X.
First, the original file you attached: grid.png. For some reason it will only open in safari and I cannot download it. Is the same file contained in you zip attachment?
Second, you mentioned Motion, which I don't want to use because it eats up too much time and is too complicated. So could you please explain what files I should use and where I should put them for FCPX.
Thanks again

Download Lee's zip file and when unzipped place the entire GRID folder into users/movies/motion templates/generators. Then restart FCPX and in the media browser click on the generators tab and scroll down to find the grid.
If you make a subfolder within the generators folder (such as Lee's Generators) and place the entire GRID folder there, then you can organize the generators by the creator. If not, it will just appear with all the other generators.

just occurred to me, you can go and download the RT Classic generators, they have a grid in the set already and its way more useful than my wee static offering (just visit Ripple Training)
