Organizing media in events

Organizing media in events was created by athanc
I have been working with FCPX since it's been released and I absolutely love it. I think the shift to database media management is the greatest thing that could have happened to Final Cut.
That being said I do have some issues with managing my media in my events and I hope one of you guys can help me figure it out.
I have an event with footage from many different dates. However, even though its part of the same event, FCPX still insists on breaking apart all the clips based on the date it was shot. I understand how this can be practical for many projects but in many instances it isn't (for me at least). I've attached an image that shows how my event browser looks so you can understand.
Is there any way to get rid of this feature and have all my clips in one "folder" rather than separated? When in the thumbnail view, every clip is in a separate view and it makes scrolling very tedious.
Thanks guys.

If you hit the little cog wheel icon below the Event Library you'll see an option "Group Clips By", change this from "Content Created" to "None", or something else that might even suit better.

Yeah that'll do it, thank you. I knew there had to be a way to get rid of it. Now I feel like an idiot. Thanks, NocoDave!

I would like to see this as a fcpx preference that could be established each and every time you start fcpx rather than having to select it per event. Time for a feedback page to be filled out.

Already there...unfortunately the club doesn't make it to Apple, so the feedback page is the next best shot.

No! Please don't! I love FCP X flexibility to be able to change stuff like that on the desktop.
Organize your clips in keyword folders, and you don't have to bother with the shooting date anymore. It is a bit more work at the start of a project, but pays off later with (a lot of) time saving.

"...rather than having to select it per event."
It isn't per Event, I set it as I want it, all Events conform to that sorting scheme.
"...don't have to bother with the shooting date anymore."
You don't ever have to bother with the shooting date, once you set the sorting scheme for the Event Library and Browser.

BenB...this doesn't seem to be working for me. When I create a new event, it seems to default with sorting by date and categorizes my clips that way. I realize I can change that, but I have to do it for each event. I generally want this the same way for each project and new event I create...so am I missing something? How do you set it once and have each new event remember those settings?

I did it once when I first launched FCP X months ago, and have not had to touch it again. Works in the Event Library and for the Event Browser. No matter how many new Events I create, the settings stay the same. They're supposed to be universal, not per Event.

Ben, you're right. They are working as you describe. I wonder if this was fixed in the 10.0.3 update. I'm sure I remember having to reset them in early releases....or am I crazy.
